Alter call feeling

That little tug on your heart pulling you towards something,
that little uneasy feeling keeping you from doing something,
that little voice in the back of your head that you feel like is telling you to stay,
work harder,
don't freak out.
That is God.
It is just but a whisper.
But that is God of the universe, speaking... to... YOU.

We all know the feeling.
Its the "alter call" feeling.
When the preacher says "anyone that feels like God is calling them to the alter right now, or is speaking to you to come up to the front and give everything up, come now"
We sit so nervous in our seat, we sweat, our hearts beat fast, we look around the room to see if anyone else is going, and then when we finally decide to go,
when we decide to surrender,
it all goes away,
we take a deep breath,
because we know that it was meant to be.
We know that what God wanted for us at that exact moment.
And we leave feeling so much better, weight is GONE from our shoulders.
All because we surrendered.
It wasn't someone yelling at us what to do,
it wasn't because someone said "if you don't do this then you will be in trouble, or you will regret it"
it wasn't because there was an angel that tapped us on the shoulder and spoke angelically into our ear.
It was that simple, little, minute, tiny feeling that we had, that we knew was real, we knew why it was there, we knew what we needed to do.

God doesn't yell.
God doesn't shove the Bible in peoples faces.
God doesn't give us a Y in the road and make the better road look more appealing.
God doesn't force decisions upon us.
So why should we?

God gives us direction when we truly ask for it.
God gives us strength when we collapse in front of Him.
God gives us purpose when we finally look no other place in the world than in the Bible and into Him.

That is our job.
When people ask for help, we give it.
When people ask for strength, we pull out our weights and we work with them.
When people ask for purpose, we search up and down side to side with them. We direct them to the only place that gives purpose. The Bible.

My mom has said this to me the past 3 months.
"Anna, we don't clean the fish"
Which means, God does the cleaning.
We catch the fish, but God cleans it.
Well I think it should be this.
"Anna, we shouldn't try to be the fish"
When we catch the fish, we shouldn't try to become the fish, in order to do what is best for the fish.
Because in all honestly, they know exactly what is best for themselves.
Its just a simple choice.
Selflessness
Hope
Faith
Truth

All we can do, is pray, and pray hard that the fish doesn't swim away, or jump back into the water.
That they decide to bask in the light of God, to sit back and give God the keys to the car.
